Founder & Director - Abdul Rehman Dakri

It has been a long time dream for Abdul Rehman Dakri and his wife Mehrunessa to establish an orphanage for the poor and needy children once they retire. Finally, after visiting a few countries, by the grace of Allah, they decided to make Malaysia their home. In England, Abdul Rehman was very active in community work and was an active volunteer for Garden of Peace, a charity organisation in Ilford, East London which established and managed a cemetery for the Muslims (www.garden-of-peace.org.uk). To realise their dream, Our Home : Rumah Aman was registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in March 2004. The name Rumah Aman which means Peaceful Home was researched by a friend in England. Rumah Aman (Shah Alam) Berhad, a company limited by guarantee was then registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia in January 2005 to manage Rumah Aman Orphanage and Welfare Home which began operations in Shah Alam, Selangor in June the same year. Abdul Rehman and his wife came to Malaysia in 2003 and are now residing under the Malaysia My Second Home Programme. He envisions establishing another 13 orphanages including for girls, throughout the country. Abdul Rehman Dakri being the founder of Rumah Aman is also the director of Rumah Aman (Shah Alam) since the company's inception in January 2005.


Founder - Mehrunessa Dakri

Mehrunessa Dakri is the founder of Rumah Aman. At the age of 18 years she left Malawi, Africa to marry Abdul Rehman Dakri and joined him in the textile business. Like her husband, she too had the intention of establishing an orphanage or some other institution which will be able to help the poor and the needy moreover she is very concern about the upbringing of children, their well being and education needs.


Director - Tan Sri FD Mansor

Tan Sri Dato’ Mohamed Mansor bin Fateh Din is one of the founders of Glomac Berhad. Presently he is its Group Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer. His dedication, commitment and vision continue to produce the inspiration for the Glomac Group. He was chosen as Selangor’s Entrepreneur of the Year 1995 and also Malaysia’s Property Man of the Year 2005. He was the Honorary Secretary of the Selangor Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and until today he is still active in social work. Tan Sri FD Mansor is a Director of Rumah Aman (Shah Alam) since September 2006.


Director - Ismail Ahmed Dakri

Ismail Ahmed Dakri joined A. Dakri Co. Ltd, a family concern, as a salesman after completing secondary school at the age of 18 years old. Over the years, he rose to become the sales director of A. Dakri Co. Ltd. which was producing fabric and garments. When the company closed after being in operations for 42 years, he and his older brother, Abdul Rehman came to Malaysia in 2003. While his brother founded an orphanage, Ismail was executive director of Eurostructures Sdn. Bhd., producing plastic bags and plastic products for export to the United Kingdom. He is also a director of Vista Magic Sdn. Bhd. exporting Malaysian halal food to United Kingdom. Ismail Ahmed Dakri has been a director of Rumah Aman (Shah Alam) since its inception in January 2005.


Director - Dato' Norhani Saad

Dato' Norhani Saad is an entrepreneur and has vast working experience in the corporate world mainly in product development. She is currently active in promoting Islamic education programs and is a partner of an Integrated Islamic School in Kuala Lumpur. She is also pursuing opportunities to enhance the income of single mothers through cottage industries and small medium enterprise. Dato' Norhani Saad was appointed a Director of Rumah Aman (Shah Alam) on 7 September 2011.



Management & Staff

1. SYED MAAZ AHMED - Chief Executice Officer

S. Maaz Ahmed, is an alumnus of Staffordshire University, U.K., from which he received his Bachelors of Arts in Accounting Finance degree with honors. A Certified Corporate Administrator from the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, presently a Professional Member of Malaysian Institute of Management and also a Professional Member of Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management. He started his career in February 2003 as an Assistant Marketing Manager with T&T Cargo International, which dealt with logistics, clearing forwarding and shipping agents. In 2005, he took up the position as Executive Finance and Secretary to Chief Financial Officer with Dewan Mushtaq Group. He later became an integral member of the private trading companies in Malaysia and its sister companies in 2011. As the group’s, General Manager, he was also responsible for the management, human resource, administration, accounts and corporate secretarial matters. Mr. Maaz was appointed and nominated as the Executive Director of Offshore Company in Malaysia on 10 of January 2012. He was also a Managing Director of an education consultancy firm, Samz Global Sdn Bhd before joining Rumah Aman (Shah Alam) Bhd. In 2016, Mr. Maaz also appointed as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aman Integrated Education Sdn. Bhd A resident of Malaysia for the past eleven years, he brings to the table seven years of professional experience as well as sound knowledge on Malaysian business laws, regulations and procedures.


2. EMA SYARINA SHAHARANI – Home Executive Secretary

Ema Syarina Shaharani obtained her Certificate of Accounting in 1999 and received her Bachelor of Public Management Degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in Sintok, Kedah. She joined Rumah Aman in 2005 as a Tutor for Mathematics and Bahasa Malaysia subject for Primary Level. In 2013, she was appointed as administrator for Rumah Aman and act as Centre Coordinator. She engaged actively with planning and execution of any programme involving Rumah Aman including Volunteer activities with multiple agencies. In 2015, she was appointed as Home Executive Secretary for Rumah Aman Sdn. Bhd. She was actively engaged with the administration of daily operation of Rumah Aman while being responsible for Financial and Human Resource Management Division. Apart from that, she is also a representative for Rumah Aman in any occasion including court proceedings and hearings for the adopting process and connecting various departments and divisions for both government and private office. She is one of the key person in Rumah Aman and person-in-charge for the Administration and Management Division of Rumah Aman. In 2016, she holds a position as Director of Dimensi Aman Tuition Centre Sdn. Bhd. and appointed as Company Director of Aman Integrated Education Sdn. Bhd.


3. MOHAMAD KHAIRULNIZAM - Head of Education

Mohamad Khairulnizam Bin Nordin, completed his study in Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR), Kelana Jaya and obtained Bachelor of English (Hons) TESOL and currently on his way of submitting his Master of Education, Curriculum Development and Philosophy of Education thesis proposal at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UITM), Shah Alam, Selangor. Overall, he has 14 years of experience in education where he started his journey in education field after being appointed as Guru Sandaran Tidak Terlatih (GSTT) from Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri Perak right after he completed his Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia back in January, 2004. He was appointed as Lecturer in Language Department, KOLEJ UNIKOP (KOPERASI POLIS Sdn. Bhd.) before joining International Islamic College (IIC) under IIUM Higher Education Sdn. Bhd. (IIUM Holdings) as Graduate Educational Officer (GEO) and since then, he had engaged with multiple roles in both Academic and Management Divisions. He was later appointed as Course Coordinator for Intermediate and Advanced English programme. He was also appointed as Committee of Examination (COMEX), Curriculum Developer, Head of Students Processions (Convocation) and Head of Facilitators for Ibadah Camp. In 2013, he created Malaysian University English Test Programme in IIC and was later appointed as Head of Programme for MUET and Intensive English Programme before joining Rumah Aman as Head of Education Division.


4. MOHAMED RADZI HASHIM – Home Senior Executive

Ustaz Mohamed Radzi bin Hashim has a Diploma in Arabic Language from the Institute of Arabic Language Studies and Usuluddin Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. He worked as a Religious Teacher at At-Taqwa School, a private Intergrated Islamic School in Kuala Lumpur. He joined Rumah Aman in 2006 and is now the Senior Teacher for Islamic Studies. He is also in charge of the secondary school children at Rumah Aman 2.
